Terms and Conditions

Last updated 20 October 2026. Mobile Smart Repairs Wigan is a trading name of Dean Seville. These terms apply to the mobile cosmetic vehicle repairs we carry out at a place you and we have agreed on. We don't operate premises where vehicles are dropped off.

1. Quotes

Our price is based on the photographs and details you give us, and it is subject to us inspecting the vehicle. Please make sure your photos show all the damage and let us know about any earlier repairs or repainting. If we find on the day that the damage is not as it looked in the photos, and this changes how we would repair it or what it would cost, we will explain the difference and get your agreement before carrying out any additional paid work. You do not have to accept a changed price.

2. Bookings and repair locations

A booking is confirmed when we have agreed the work, the date, the location and any booking fee with you. The vehicle must be parked where it is legal and safe for us to work, with space around it and permission from the landowner if the land is not yours. If weather, the location or the damage itself means a mobile repair is not suitable on the day, we may have to rearrange or recommend another solution. We will let you know about any significant change as soon as is reasonably possible.

3. Booking fees, cancellations and wasted visits

We will tell you before you book if a booking fee applies, whether it will be taken off the final bill and what happens to it if you cancel. You will not necessarily lose it by cancelling. If we turn up for a confirmed booking but cannot begin because of something within your control, such as no access to the vehicle or keys, we may charge a reasonable call-out fee of up to £100. It will not be more than the loss we actually and unavoidably incur, and we will consider the circumstances and try to reduce that loss.

To cancel or rearrange, please contact us as early as possible by phone, text or WhatsApp. Where the contract was made at a distance or off-premises, your statutory cancellation rights continue to apply. If you ask us to start the work during the cancellation period, we will tell you in advance what you may need to pay.

4. Payment

You agree to pay the price shown in your quote or invoice. You can choose to pay through PayPal or Klarna. Any buy-now-pay-later arrangement is provided by that company, subject to its own checks, terms and repayment schedule, which it will show you before you sign up. See our payment options for more information.

5. The repair and its finish

We carry out suitable cosmetic repairs, including dents, scratches, bumper scuffs and damage to painted alloy wheels, at the agreed place. Occasionally a pre-existing problem, hidden damage or the vehicle's paint finish means a durable cosmetic repair cannot be achieved. If that happens, we will explain why and will only continue with your agreement.

6. Warranty

We will do the agreed work with reasonable care and skill. On top of that, the bodywork and paint repairs we carry out come with our Lifetime Ownership Warranty. It is given to the customer who owns the vehicle at the time the repair is completed, begins on the date of completion and lasts for as long as that customer owns the vehicle. It is not transferable and ends when the vehicle is sold or passes to another person. It applies only to the area we repaired.

Painted alloy wheel repairs are excluded from the Lifetime Ownership Warranty and instead have their own one-year workmanship warranty, starting from completion.

7. What is covered

Both warranties cover defects in the repaired area that result from our surface preparation or from the way we mixed, applied or cured materials, such as primer, paint, lacquer or filler failing because of our workmanship. A product defect that is not caused by our workmanship falls outside these warranties, but this does not affect your statutory rights in relation to materials we supply. Items listed in section 8 are covered only where our workmanship caused them.

8. What is not covered

The warranties exclude rust and corrosion, fresh stone chips, scratches, scuffs and dents, ordinary wear and tear, and damage from outside causes. They also exclude damage from acids, strong or highly alkaline cleaners, solvents, abrasives, automatic car wash brushes, steam cleaning and pressure washing at high pressure or close range, including spraying straight at edges, chips or damaged paint. Damage caused or worsened by not following our aftercare advice is excluded. Washing your car in the normal way does not void the warranty: we assess the cause of each fault, and an unrelated chip or scratch does not affect cover for a separate defect in our work.

We do not carry out rust or corrosion repairs. Neither warranty covers failure caused by existing or hidden rust or corrosion, by previous repairs, by filler, primer, paint or other materials applied by another person, or by an underlying surface failing for reasons not caused by us. Rust that develops behind panels, beneath filler or along seams is excluded, as is damage from ageing, fading, weather, road debris, impacts, vandalism, bird droppings, tree sap or environmental fallout. None of these exclusions applies where the fault results from poor workmanship on our part.

9. Aftercare and claims

Please follow the aftercare and curing instructions we give you. Keep acids, strong chemicals and abrasive products away from the repair, and avoid jet washing it hard or at close range. If you believe there is a fault with our work, tell us as soon as reasonably possible and send photos, your registration and your invoice or other details of the repair. Where we can, we would like to inspect the repair before anyone else works on it. If the fault is covered, we will fix it at no cost for labour or materials, within a reasonable time and without significant inconvenience to you. Your other legal remedies remain available.

10. Your statutory rights

This warranty wording covers repairs agreed from 20 October 2026 onwards. It takes nothing away from warranties or rights you were given under an earlier agreement. Our warranties are given in addition to your legal rights, including the right to services performed with reasonable care and skill and to materials of satisfactory quality, and they do not replace or restrict those rights. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot be limited by law.
